Reverb and Echo

our dog is well into it, ears up

Reverb classics ie Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy Man is in the popular mix, Adrian Sherwood. Add an old crit piece the brain can't recall about Aphex/Selected Ambient Works being reverb-ed synths and not a lot else. Off-side there ref. Masses of electronica (that's being deliberately vague), the examples are endless

"world of echo" is one of those great albums that I've probably listened to three or four times. it sits on my shelf, I look at it from time to time and think "yeah, great album, I should play that" but then rarely do. I know it's great, but never see to be into it, weird.
The first Arthur Russell I heard was "Let's Go Swimming" on the radio, but the announcer didn't say it was the "Puppy Surf Dub" mix off a 12", so when I finally heard the version on"World of Echo" I was really disappointed - "wtf - where's the congas?"

b-side beut. no, jim doesn’t stomp all over this one.

the blend..my god..burchill one of the most innovative guitar stylists of his day partly for being so spare, so precise, leaving all that space for bass/synth tones.

Emptyset - Medium ( 2012 )

Recorded on location in an abandoned mansion, this is basically processed reverb produced by "pushing extreme bass and feedback into the irregular spaces of the unfinished building"

nothing untouched by echo and reverb, like Pablo has been double cupping the syrup
