I don't wanna have to snuff nobody
I just drank my 25th coke with bacardi

These words are etched on my heart

Westwood played props over here a lot. HHC hero worshipped them. When I saw them live about 10 years ago
they were clearly operating on a budget cos they would be DJ then run to the front of the stage to take the mic, then
run back behind the decks

Yeah I probably got into them through HHC

Such a tragedy that digital media came along and destroyed HHC, my rightful workplace

i remember a thing HHC did about why the beatnuts are better than common. an early blow in the hip hop culture wars.

Do you remember when Pete Cashmore wrote an article about women being shit at rapping?

I guess it was an early example of trolling. It seemed intended to rile up the readers, which it duly did.

I actually appeared in an issue of HHC. J-Zone had a column and I used to exchange emails with him. He put me in his column. There was something about using Common's hat as a tea cosy.

if the face can make a comeback, so should hhc. sold all mine on ebay during lockdown. got a decent price but not as good as i got for all my source back issues.

underrated rap albums -
saafir - boxcar sessions
ras kass - soul on ice
alkaholiks - the first two albums
cormega - the realness (hes not actually a great rapper but hes got a great rap voice and picked good beats)
del - no need for alarm
UNLV - uptown for life

I actually owned four of those on CD

I remember buying The Realness on a rare trip into London.

Might have been the same trip on which I bought my legendary Karl Karni denim jacket.

i no longer own the realness. dean blunt is a fan though.
i give cormega full marks for being kind of like an early emo rapper.
even when he was just rapping regular stuff he made it sound like everything was sad AF.

i forgot: mighty casey's original rudeboy album is also an underrated classic. maybe also that first RA the rugged man album, that necro i need drugs compilation of his singles (i think that was the one), prince pauls psychoanalysis, kurious' first/only album (increeeeedible beats) and thirstin howl's compilation album which was called skillionaire i think or skilligans island, something like that. i like funny/weird rappers. i dont really care about serious rap anymore.
