You can have a self-driving organization wherein no human has bureaucratic authority over another human. Of course, you can still have hierarchy in a DAO if you want.

It also calls into question this notion of self-abolition: If a group of developers need to assume authority in order to bootstrap a fully functioning DAO, how do they go about dissolving their authority once such functionality is programmed into the DAO?

Much less of a dilemma than the dictatorship of the proletariat, it would seem. In the case of DAOs, it seems quite feasible.

Right now I'm planning a decentralized intelligence agency where OSINT researchers can collaborate and be compensated in stablecoins, but I'm pretty much starting from scratch in terms of learning how to code it.
In this case, there would be hierarchy though, and credentials that take the form of non-fungible tokens. But the processes for earning these credentials would be open for anyone with the time and skill.

I just need to flesh out some more basic conceptual stuff, then go about developing it or finding people to help develop it.

Yeah that Gibson quote about the future being unevenly distributed is especially true with blockchain and its derivative technologies like DAOs. This stuff is maybe 10 or 15 years away from being among commonplace best practices across virtually all sectors.

Even the institutional investors, who think of crypto as a new asset class, aren't seeing the whole picture. Really its a new paradigm for assets most broadly.

Just learned of it a minute ago, haven't looked into it yet

The token is on Uniswap, but I'm not sure how polished the project is.
Yes, I have 525 of them, came close to selling but I'm going to hold.
I won 40 million $ACYC over the weekend too.
Web3 is raining money right now.

A project on Cardano that plants trees which are accounted for as assets on a blockchain. Similar to the endangered species tokenization project I may have mentioned here.

This case I haven't looked into, nor do I know if it's been audited at all, but technically speaking its not far fetched. So in short, I'm not convinced either way.

Like how Ecosia plants trees from their search engine revenue, only tokenized on a blockchain.

Similar to KlimaDAO and tokenized carbon. Again I don't know the auditing situation, but these things certainly aren't too good/idealistic to be true, especially if there is value to be realized.

I suppose I should've given this disclaimer alongside the link. I just saw it, and within moments threw the link here.

Tether is suspected to be one of the iffier projects across crypto - which is really saying something - and this report details the issuance and economics of their stablecoin, USDT

I've used USDT several times, primarily as a mediator between other assets, and I've sent a total volume of $10k - $15K USDT, and have had no problems regarding stability. But as I understand it, the scrutiny is more about the issuance and backing of the asset.

USDT is the biggest stablecoin by market cap and by trading volume, and is the largest crypto asset, period, by trading volume. The crypto ecosystem at large depends heavily on USDT, it would seem.

Ive used Tether in the past as well but i would be very surprised if they genuinely had all the money to back them up that they allegedly do

Have you ever read about Dauphinot's attempted coup in Brazil? Pretty good story

If Tether went under it would destroy the market for a bit, probably something on the scale as Enron realistically
