Anyone Seen Tether's Billions?

The chief financial officer is Giancarlo Devasini, a former plastic surgeon from Italy who was once described on Tether’s website as the founder of a successful electronics business.

The only reference to him that turned up in a search of Italian newspapers showed he was once fined for selling counterfeit Microsoft software.

an entertaining article with a "colourful" cast of characters - who knew the co-creator of Inspector Gadget now runs a bank in the Bahamas and owns the "pink colonial" used as the villain's home in Casino Royale:

you can trust this guy to keep your money safe - chairman of Deltec Bank & Trust, the only bank who would admit to working with Tether - his association began after the CFO of Tether cooked him a "risotto lunch"

the whole thing is so shady i love it personally

Just last month, traders bought $3 billion in new Tethers, presumably sending billions of perfectly good U.S. dollars to the Inspector Gadget co-creator’s Bahamian bank in exchange for digital tokens conjured by the Mighty Ducks guy and run by executives who are targets of a U.S. criminal investigation.

I don't see why inspector gadget is being used as a slight against credibility but i did see the film about the mighty ducks lad in puerto rico and that was a good laugh

I think the photo ( see my previous post ) of the Inspector Gadget guy is more of a red flag - he's a dead ringer for Chuck Norris in a villain role

Never used Tether personally, but I just as well could have. Don't know anything about them, other than the awful rep they have in crypto reddit culture. Better sentiments about USDC, but again I lack firsthand research here.

@148 I.Q. Magical Thinker I'm considering getting involved with MakerDAO's forum, to try and help define a utopian vision alongside some proper blockchain technicians. You ever look into MakerDAO? I don't know much about it, other than its role in the Eth / Eth Classis fork, if I'm not mistaken. Don't own any of their native currency though.

Strange roadmap but alright. Worth noting also is that the Bitcoin were reportedly mined with some sort of thermal energy from a volcano.

Make that 40% more convincing and try it out on reddit, and you may reel someone in.

apparently there are thousands of people on the street protesting this whim by self-styled "world's coolest dictator"

Probably socialists scared about their sources of power and influence - poverty and dependence - being cut off.

If you're smart enough, there's free money out there. I minted this pair for $0 90 minutes ago, they're now selling for about $12,500 each. But I'm not selling, because I can create more by keeping them and improving them.

All this favours the young and/or smart. You don't have to be wealthy. Proper levelling up.

A similar, but less sophisticated project, Anonymice, is earning holders $90 per mouse, per day. Cyberkongz earns holders $900 $banana per Kong per day. They're selling for no less than 9 and 155 Ethereum respectively (ETH=£2600 each).

It's hilarious.

I do have doubts about the liquidity of many of these tokens, but that is something that can get better over time.

Maybe there are ways to incrementally exchange some of these tokens for more liquid ones like any of the top assets on Coinbase? Incrementally, so as to not have people disrupting the potentially small cap markets.

Uniswap v3 seems to work ok.
