I always thought they could have had one with him going after Excalibur, The Spear of Destiny or Atlantis.

how does he even end up there without knowing it?
He's fighting a Russian dude in a military base and they end up on this experimental rocket engine thing on tracks which blasts them out into the desert then he wanders off and ends up in one of those fake towns they were testing nukes on.

I'm still trying to work out what's so unconvincing about the aliens in the fourth one. It's occurring in a universe with established supernatural and fantastical elements, but it just feels weird. I guess it's down to the lack of history/mythology when it comes to extraterrestrials relative to the wealth of material and cultural influence of something like Christianity. There just isn't as much to draw on and it feels less consequential than God obliterating a bunch of Nazis or the discovery of the Holy Grail.

Apparently Lucas actually feels the Grail was a bit weak too,

"The Holy Grail was sort of feeble," says Lucas. "But, at the same time, we put the father in there to cover for it. I mean, the whole reason it became a dad movie was because I was scared to hell that there wasn't enough power behind the Holy Grail to carry a movie."

I've not watched the 4th one, don't want to go there.

I did really like the Sean conner one, particularly the ending where they have to go through that weird place and find the cup.

"That's the cup of a carpenter"

The fourth one's weird, but still entertaining. It doesn't have the feel of the older ones though. There's something missing. The CGI and modern effects don't help.

I watched a short film about the development of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last night and the potential titles they were throwing out were unbelievably bad,

Indiana Jones and the Atomic Ants.
Indiana Jones and the Son of Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones and The Mysterians
.

Never seen it. I've only seen The Breakfast Club, Uncle Buck, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Ferris Bueller.
