This idea of a invasion of the US is bizarre and like a cartoon (though it's terrifying to think of how the US military exploits it) and irrelevant to modern geopolitics/warfare since ww2
I hope so! I hope our children and their children and theirs never have to be conquered. It's 70 years of relative peace against all of human history.

this is pornography
do you remember how the USSR bankrupted on foreign wars and amazing weapons? China is sitting back and watching the US follow the same path

What do you make of this?
Well, India has a billion people. Their short-term situation is one thing; the long-term growth logic is another.

China was in a similar boat in previous decades, and now they've lifted those laws.

Edit: below is a podcast series, not a text.

Based on a couple reports they did, which I haven't read. Pretty sure they get into what you are talking about, plus all the private military contractors that capitalize on the proxy warfare, while Russian officials get some degree of plausible deniability if such conflicts draw international attention.

thanks for the concern, very caring, I’m humbled you’d think anyone’s offspring will be conquered and enslaved, outbred, outcompeted

Anyway—to answer Einstein's reputed "I don't know what weapons WW3 will be fought with, but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones" remark—WW3 will be won on the basis of artificial intelligence systems. Very little else will matter.
You have to wonder whether a sufficiently advanced AI would be on the side of humanity.

I realistically don't see AGI on the horizon. As of now, seems to be just profoundly intricate pattern recognition that can be operationalized to clever ends.

I never know how literally to take it when some people refer to capitalism as an artificial intelligence.

znore says Finnegans Wake and The Crying of Lot 49 are artificial intelligences which have overpowered their creators. That certainly appears to be the case with capitalism, if it is an artificial intelligence.

I do quite like the idea of stuff like language and capitalism being artificial - or even organic - intelligences. I dunno how useful it is in practical terms, but it puts an interesting spin on things and I definitely find myself slipping into thinking of them having their own agenda separate from ours and perhaps even each other.

The internet as parasite thing I was on about in 'Morphosis' still comes to mind quite often, particularly with all the stuff about how the algorithm seemingly feeds off human suffering.

cyborgism also,
it's like sci-fi is a lens that works backwards too

One of the things I found exciting about Nick Land's early stuff was the way he talked about history via the cyberpunk lens. Talking about Napoleon and stuff you'd never normally associate with something like that as being part of this assembly process being dictated by an artificial intelligence from the future.

AI says “death to America and the West, death to China, death to Russia, death to all nuclear regimes”

so we turn it off, but it’s too late because your brain’s Tesla-port usb has been the route through which AI malware poured through and you wake up like Keanu
