Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
face it, every past, present and future superpower was/is/will be evil. deal with it.
Bring back the Romans, I say. They were cunts but at least you knew where you were with them. Firm but fair.

I spent 2020 pilled on the coming Chinese wave, and I spent 2021 pilled on it not coming, or no time soon

Apparently demographics are bad there right now. Can't get birth rates up. Big issues coming their way. It could happen, but it'll be 50 years, no one on this board but me n @linebaugh and @mvuent and @boxedjoy and New Stan and maybeeee @version will see it

In Superpowerland, China and Russia are just as dysfunctional as the US, more so in some respects. The main difference is they are more overtly brutal in dealing with opposition.

Yeah thinking long-term, we need to have more babies in the West. We should also have a way better skilled immigration policy. It's absolute, reckless geopolitical insanity to not let in skilled labor. Literally both the right and left, in the US, support this stance and it isn't enacted. The friggin military supports this and it isn't enacted. Insanity.

There will come a day when the West, with all its guilt and all its secular self-apology for existing, will cease to exist, or at least cease to set global policy agenda, and unless China has been tamed, or grown into itself ethically, we'll be in a grim place.

Degrowth folks don't get this. They don't think evolutionarily. They think, oh if America and Europe stop progressing, stop advancing technologically, stop growing, it'll be good for the environment. They don't think to what happens in 50 years when China, with zero interest in degrowth, takes control. They don't think comparatively; they consider the West's sins in an absolute light, a light in which these sins certainly look awful, are awful. But the comparative lens is the only way to view an evolutionary puzzle. What is preferred, what is better, not what is good in some vacuum

The problem with power is that, if you give it up, someone will take it. You can't give up power and expect others to follow. Power vacuums aren't stable, someone will take control. The question is who, and what they'll do once they have it.
