I've read articles about how being in an EVE Online "guild" ( or whatever they call them ) is like a full time job - maintaining spreadsheets, etc.,
That's not the one I was thinking of though.ended up in a murder case
Interesting so far, but it gets stuck for me early on.

This is cool. It's kinda like a demonstration of game theory rather than an explanation.... but it gets really complicated really quickly once you try and generalise.stick with it - choose "copycat" to start with, if the miscommunication level > 9% then go with "cheat"
it's actually a really good guide to Game Theory
In many ways, Spades is a metaphor for African-American life. How you play Spades, is how you play life. When playing Spades, you're dealt a hand and have no control over the cards you get - unless you're cheating.
The difficult part is breaking inertia, giving the meme a kick-start. But once it picks up momentum, this momentum builds via the positive feedback loops of a Matthew Effect. The meme goes “viral.” This is known as runaway selection, and it can come at the cost of an organism’s non-sexual fitness. That is, in optimizing for some intra-species game, it becomes less optimized for the inter-species game. Which, of course, is the opposite of how these things are “supposed” to work.
