It seems once one becomes more or less convinced that meaning is dynamic and relative, one then has an easier time assuming responsibility for the sustenance of this meaning.

I tend to rely on the metaphor of crop rotations. Some days my interests lay more in favor of calculus, other days in statecraft, and if I can manage to conform focus to interest, and vice versa as a negotiation, the learning experience will prove to be more robust than if I focused on a topic that was remote from where the interest is located.

So one half is conforming topic to interest, which I go about by way of dynamic scheduling, and the other half is conforming interest to topic, which involved forcing myself to become interested in it in order to absorb as much of it as I can.

its certainly true that we are different people with a different set of interests and inclinations from day to day and it makes sense to go with the changes

and that some of our cast members make quite rare appearances, maybe 2 or 3 times a year, cameos

I do think, in a wildly hypothetical way that may shed some light on something neuroscientifically empirical, that we can will ourselves through states of mind in the manner of a sublime and slippery algorithm.

but then you are forcing other characters off the stage. why? by what right?

In my case, as a means to better position myself to absorb more of the content and integrate into a systematic intuition.

but this boils down to whether you trust 'nature'/the process or your own provenly stupid will

But to turn again to the crop rotation metaphor, it would be something of a juggling act. Paying attention to this figure while they are glowing, and as they start to fade, turning to that figure over there as they start to brighten.

But again its not just a matter of conforming your attention/focus to wherever your interest meanders, but also imparting some degree of will over the development of your interest. So as to prevent any one figure from atrophy, from falling out of the loop, from not being sufficiently integrated into the crop rotation, etc.

Could be mangling what you meant, but what I'm trying to say holds water in its own right. That acceptance of finitude needs to be woven into the ebb and flow, if such an effort is to be sustained. A battle forfeited here and there as a finesse for the war.
