Terrible news, he leaves behind an incredible contribution to music.

KTL played very loud for the rest of the morning.

Sad news. Similar story to Leo re: Mego -- eMego being an integral part of exploring electronic stuff early on. I got into it through dubstep, quickly lost interest then stumbled across people like Actress and OPN which led to Mego, the first Pita album, Russell Haswell, Mark Fell, Hecker etc.

Wow John, had no idea you had that history with him. What a great relationship to have.

some of the most psychedelic 4 dimensional noise ive ever heard. Yes, it bludgens you, but it's also totally serious and without wanting to come across as wanky, 'intellectual.' I was driving through the aegean coast with the family a few years ago and when they started having one of their routine petty squabbles I put this on the headphones and when A Vienese Tragedy came on I immediately felt like I was hallucinating, despite being stone cold sober. It's rare that music can ever do that to me now. Xenakis is the only composer who has also done that, a feeling of expanding out of the body and becoming pure sonic data. Innovator

Thanks for that @version - I hadn’t read the Epiphanies for some reason. The Doublevision VHS was one of the things he delighted in showing me.
