Although he could have just meant creative in a broader and stricter sense, as in "creative work" as opposed to manual labor, number crunching, etc things that do not require creativity so much as instruction following.

creative means producing something new, whatever it may be. you stan seem to be on a mission to learn things already existing.

This is an interesting development,
Also interesting to see the flipping of public and private due to masking outside and WFH,
The sense of privacy that masks can provide in public is somewhat offset by the scrutiny some remote workers now feel when they’re at home, but working . . .

“I just stare at that little box with my face in it and pick apart my appearance,” she said, noting that her distress is affecting her job performance. “My double chin seems six times larger, my eye bags are too deep of a purple, etc … Even when there’s a heatwave and my apartment is close to 90 degrees, I’ll wear a turtleneck that I can pull up. I pack on thick makeup that makes my skin peel.”

Going out in public with a black surgical mask that covers her chin and sunglasses that cover her eye bags provides Miller with an escape from that sense of scrutiny.

Definitely, but in the interest of avoiding redundant creation, that is, redundant in the eyes of the collective. That, in addition to just appreciating what has already been created.

If I am striving to encapsulate and communicate insight via paradigms and diagrams, which I expect others to find value in, I would be arrogant to assume that the paradigms and diagrams that already exist contain nothing of value for me, nothing for me to inherit and to pass on. Of course, I have no shortage of arrogance at this stage of things.

But I think ultimately that I'm better suited to explore, rather than refining the findings of prior explorers. Others may feel better suited for the latter

But I do think there is something delusional in our conception of creation, that we are fully creating something that was not there. We can reconfigure things in ways that have no discernible precedent, which may as good as new as far we are concerned.

i do agree you're better off knowing the rules if you want to break them

But yeah the scientistic work really isn't creative insofar as it involves deferring your judgement/agency to prior findings, which is necessary to a degree to build a discourse, but it seems like too many scientists cower inside this way of thinking, unwilling to venture into less charted territory.

edit: then again I'm sure much of it has to do with professional bureaucracy and grants and the risk-averseness thereof.

you dont know about it cos you dont live in chichi stoke newington

Black garlic is a type of aged garlic that is deeply colored brown. The color is a result of the Maillard reaction or caramelization,[1][failed verification] not fermentation. It was first used as a food ingredient in Asian cuisine. It is made by heating whole bulbs of garlic (Allium sativum) over the course of several weeks, a process that results in black cloves. The taste is sweet and syrupy with hints of balsamic vinegar[2] or tamarind.[3] Black garlic's popularity has spread around the world as it has become a sought-after ingredient used in both home-cooking and high-end cuisine.[4]

i was thinking smash up a whole head of garlic and mix it with a slab of butter then coat a sliced baggette with it. i want
it to taste like the eighties garlic bread of my childhood. but more so.
i took the rest of that substandard garlic bread and added loads of butter and raw garlic then put it on the oven and it was really good.
good breakfast.

Think it was that Slothrop guy me and Luka like on Twitter who was saying something the other day about feeling we're being pushed into a scenario where all communication runs through centralised, heavily-regulated networks.
this is from my famous early work, heronbone

All Communications to be Directed Through Central Processing Computer.
School Monitor.

Police state. access to all communication networks. pigeons carry messages of dissent through grey skies blurred with rain.

Or more broadly, I suppose, for anyone who hates the idea of a system that knows more about them than they know about the system.
