I like how he rhymes things with "Clapham," or "telly" with "nappies smelling"... you really get the local flavor.

Did anyone have ancestors who were alive when "Up The Junction," Squeeze's new 1979 single, was released?

recently heard this gnarly re-do of the first single by difford/tilbrook. I've always rated them a classic British pop composers.

He was a regular at Romford dog track. Known for being a tight cunt who never tipped.

Maybe I misunderstood this, but I thought anyone who is alive now must have had ancestors alive whenever any historical occurrence er occurred.
Unless it was before the emergence of sentient life I suppose... which arguably doesn't rule out Jools Holland.

Take Me I'm Yours is great... Jane Birkin (auto correct is insisting she have the anti-glam name of Jane Birmingham) also covered it

Also @suspended are you familiar with Cool For Cats? It shares the same slice of mundane daily life kitchen sink colloquialisms as Up The Junction and came to my attention as a child when it was used on an advert for... what was it? I think it was milk or milkshakes or something that cats probably drink.

Do people still say The Sweeney? Is there even such a thing now?

Carrying on with the youtube comments..

I'm Australian but seriously where would the world be without British music from rock to ska and everything in between amazing and thank you
It's a pleasure. I'm too modest to take all the credit though. The bands did their little bit too.
