Fast food

McDonald’s have become de facto state services for the homeless here. Sometimes you’ll see a franchise from another chain take on the same role but it’s usually a McDonald’s which I think is odd.

today for lunch i will be having a bottle of Sancerre, some scallops, a lot of buttered bread, a braised ox cheek, probably an amuse bouche, and a treacle tart for afters. oh, and a green salad.

In the past year I think they all realized that people will come no matter what and there’s no reason at all spend time and money on making franchises run well. The majority of time I go in it’s a shit show.

It’s primarily American food but they’ll also sell tacos and churros and a pita and a Thai chicken bowl and things like that. In middle school I once ate 19 jack in the box tacos in a single sitting

A warm and flaky croissant stacked with American cheese, grilled ham, grilled sausage, freshly cracked egg, more ham, more sausage, more cheese, and another freshly cracked egg. We can do this all day. And we do.
