past lives or parallel lives

this is something that's been bugging me these past few days: i can't remember the last time i saw a news report or really anything about people having recollections of their past lives, of who they were before their current incarnation, absolutely no recent testimonials like that as far as i can remember.

what happened and why? did we collectively switch to this relatively new and fresh notion of having parallel lives and having quantum deaths in parallel worlds while powering on in this world line instead of having a linear progression of lives as we had conceived in the past?

do you have any interesting stories of past lives you recently read and would recommend? please share if you do it's been a long time. also, which of the two is more convincing or appealing to you, past lives or parallel lives?

according to my mum when i was little i gave a vivid account of my previous life as a french fisherman in Brittany.
i'm guessing none of those memories stuck with you past childhood?

those individuals who trace a number of their past lives all the way to ancient times are fascinating i'm always torn between whether they're wildly imaginative or if it's genuine residue of their past lives that they're remembering

its such a great idea one of those ones that give you that sense of cosmic vertigo when you encounter it

@woops has talked about how under certain conditions eg delerium tremens he has experieced a level of advanced hallucination that far exceeds what people ususally refer to as imagination a fully fleshed out reality in his case involving a radio station with a smarmy presenter and a full range of perfectly realised composed and arranged pop songs startling in their realistic banality

I once dreamt an entirely original episode of the Diana Rigg-era Avengers that was so vivid I felt like I was in it

of course past lives are factually real as are paralell universes and any other cool idea but its also interesting how the mind can create these intensely involving and intricately fleshed out fictions for us under certain conditions

perhaps it's such states that open a connection to a parallel life where that's indeed happening at the moment

There's always a tension, and this is what I mean when I ask, Christ or antichrist, between the idea of the materialised externalised aspect as the collective realisation of the imagination, unconscious etc or as a kind of shoddy replica or trap

On the one hand the idea that this is what we have dreamed together, these Marvel movies are the realisation of our unconscious, it's who we are made flesh

On the other it's this is just corporate bullshit pandering to our worst desires lowest common denominator trash inflicted on us to keep us artificially locked into a lower state of consciousness

I saw a later episode the other day where a bunch of Russian spies escaped from a monastery using vodka that turned them invisible.
