The flight has been delayed an hour and a half now cuz they switched out planes and this plane has three less first class seats. So now it's like hunger games for a first class seat all the rich people are up at the counter making their case for why they get one
Starting offer was $1000 and ticket reimbursement for a downgrade to EconoPlus; no one has taken it yet, so they're ratcheting up $500 at a time, still no one's bit

Oh yeah I came through alright, don't you worry about that. I instantly grasped the situation, namely that The Spenmeister* had lost his wallet and was stuck at the airport.
The airport is ten minutes from my house and I was at a friend's place in town eating bbq chicken which meant that my journey home would involve driving right past the very airport where the poor old Spenulator+ was stuck with no money or friends and so I thought that the very least I could do was offer to pick him up and drive him to his Airbnb.
But actually, he was in NY not Lisbon and he managed to get an uber no problem. So, I came through in as much as I made a completely unnecessary offer of a lift from totally the wrong airport on utterly the wrong continent. Go me!
