it's like pastiche voice.
bob dylan has a great voice but i was thinking about this the other day as i was sat at a cafe unable to decide if the music i was listening to was 'the real thing' or a modern day replica, like, was it really 2nd tier 70s americana rock or not... then remembering that the 'real thing' was a pastiche all along. the band were pastiche. dylan wasn't really a sharecropper, hobo, freight train rider, jagger was not really a black man from the missipsipi delta etc

It is sort of the same for me with the rolling stones, I like the odd song but there's something I can't get past.
