we stan the meriod, whatever that is

almost tempted to do a kickstarter, buy the Tandalty sound a 303, and get them to do a showcase in London & Manchester, with full crew - Al-Mariod on keys ( I think that's his name? ), the live percussion guy, the camel owner to lead the circle, plus Magda, Ammar, and Ahmed on the mic

love the siren action at the start of this one, puts Jah Shaka to shame.. ;)

( edit: also love the way, just as the bass kicks in, that the over enthusiastic dancer gets gently escorted away...approx 2:30 )

the youtube title ( or google translate ) isn't really conveying the intensity of this clip of Tandalty sound in full force

I feel like google translate is trolling me now, this sounds like Tandalty style to me - just isten to those synth bends and that insistent clack clack rhythm

would love to do a Bandcamp compilation of this stuff, but feel like that might be too much of an undertaking for me at the moment, especially considering i don't actually know how to contact anyone from the tandalty massive...anyone from Nyege Nyege in the house? Awesome Tapes From Africa? anyone?

Thanks!
She is basically singing about sticking with her lover despite all the odds.
Al Maryood means "the chosen one".

Sudanese have the same culture as any African village that the father have the final decision to choose his daughters husband, so she is begging her father not let her marry anyone else but the man she loves, so she is describing to her father all the good things about the man that she loves, so she is asking her father's blessing to marry her own man (almaryood), it means the beloved or the person that you love a lot (boyfriend)

big tune again, the distortion makes this version a bit special... ( like in an amazing way, heavy metal tandalty anthem )

( edit: about 2 minutes in there's a one finger melody that I recognise from 1992 'ardkore rave, help me? someone must be able to id? )
