there's one seller on eBay & discogs who always seems to have records I want, but past experience has taught me that I don't need them that much as I will have to wait months and months and read various excuses about "shielding", health issues, hospital visits, and the like. The records have always arrived, eventually, but given the precarious state of their health I can foresee the day when they croak with my money in their bank account, and because of that I just ignore their listings, no matter how much I need a particular record...

and then there's this: wait patiently for 10 days until the package arrives, and it's the wrong record. I ordered the original version of a track on 12", just arrived and seller sent me a remix instead. I'd keep it if it was any good, but it's not. now have to wrangle how to return it and get a refund, and then continue the search for the original version.

Sufi did the right thing first time round, and even if you didn't agree at the time, what's done is done, let it go. He failed to nip this one in the bud, but it's still not too late.

a couple of years ago I bought a "bargain" "vg+" seven, waited a month and it finally turned up wrapped in in a brown paper bag taped shut, no stiffeners, just a brown paper bag, which I then opened to find two halves of a record which went straight in the bin because that was less hassle than arguing and paying for postage back to France with the high possibility of not getting a refund because "no control over what the post office do" ( although we were still in Europe back then and the postage was nowhere near as extortionate as it is now )

fairly sure every tune on this thread is shit but also sure no one has listened to anything anyone else has posted. i know i havent.
I always listen... albeit so I can be genuinely and righteously annoyed when people ignore mine. And also cos I like to hear good music... but... have people always listened to such bad stuff on here?

yeah, for the most part people on here have had terrible taste. we used to have some agreement around garage and jungle, and, to a lesser extent, grime, but those days are long gone.

I mean something different from that though... or maybe you're right, talking within the confines of a given sound means people are effectively safeguarded from embarrassing themselves too much. Without the protection of those rubber things in the gutters we get the real unadulterated sounds and they ain't always pretty.

being into Oasis is the marker of terrible taste, own up to it you dopey cunt.

Nothing wrong with having terrible taste, but don't exclude yourself from that.
