giving this a spin today. no timestamps but the tune that starts at 11 mins is probably the best thing on there for me. had it as mp3s when it came out in 2013 and i don't think its on streaming etc so tend to forget about it, which is really nice. on discogs it credits alva noto, william basinski, ryuichi sakamoto, i didn't know where those samples came from before. actually putting the pieces together now i bet the bug was involved in making this in one way or another coz he's done similar stuff with ambient as a bed for vocals since. 395 views on youtube so i guess it flew under the radar despite RR getting a bit better known more recently. must be weird to have one foot in the music camp and the other in the poetry world, can't imagine there's a huge amount of overlap between the audiences. i saw him actually in maspeth, at knockdown center for some thing where grouper, caterina barbieri, tim hecker and the bug were playing, god knows what he was doing there coz he didn't come on with the bug, he was about a foot taller than everyone else, he was watching barbieri i think.

it is, but MM is in a different league. when people moan about how albums are a worthless medium, MM is a prime case to dispute that notion. every song is a puzzle piece making up a greater whole, the old-time "first side/two side" song order critical to making it so.

One of those nigh on perfect albums

I remember
How the darkness doubled
I recall
Lightning struck itself
I was listening
Listening to the rain
I was hearing
Hearing something else”
