Here since accepts that he can't listen to rap unless Dean Blunt's done something with it i decided i'm gonna dedicate this hear thread to exposing him to different tracks and see how he responds.

Cat i feel like there has to be something that you can like or appreciate in rap even if it's by an artist i don't like

but lets start this off with a classic

all i know is that man likes Dean Blunt, Kanye and some jungle

as far as plans i'm gonna try and mix it up won't just be old stuff but recent stuff aswell as i mentioned i'll even try him with stuff by rappers that i personally don't like.

its not so much as an experiment as me trying to get big man to just embrace the genre on its on terms and not just as this fragment that get's refracted through this sardonic East Londoner

well as i said before i'm a child of 94 so late 90s early 2000s shaped my tastes alot of rap i liked if it wasn't radio it was stuff i got exposed to through my older cousins(i got my uncle to burn a copy of Joe Budden's first album this was looong before he was the freak show he is now), then when i got limewire downloading was big and weirdly when that whole underground/backpack rap world was dying off was when i got into that stuff

during my mid teens was when i went back to the 90s stuff and in turn discovered rap from that time i hadn't heard of before so at this point in time i'd say my taste with rap is kinda all over the shop

but this isn't meant to be about me it's about Catalog!

pass the sick bucket
there's gotta be some kool keith in this thread, and Pharoahe Monch. Some bootcamp click stuff as well, no going back to Dean after hearing — oh shit let me not jinx it.

Well thanks webesc, I'm honoured.

And whilst I've heard of goody mob, I've never heard this.

It's got a nice mellow rocking beat, I could get into it.

and for the second track here's something that dropped today
there Catalog, these are your first two to try
Well off first listens I prefer the first one but I can also see this as being a grower. Its got a drill vibe which took me ages to get into but I can now appreciate eg harlem spartans

this is not going to be worth it if the best response we can get is 'its got a nice, mellow beat' lol
