This is amazing, what/how
thats a character we invented called paisleyface or ian paisley. my friend will saw a paisly covered face in a nightmare vision induced by extreme alacohol poisoning and we developed the image between ourselves getting a lot of inspiration from the racist sexist comedians of the 1970s, wheezing, cackling, chain smoking. we borrowed a table from his local pub. sorted the costume out. bought some snacks like sausage rolls, bombay mix, chipolatas, wotsits, and we were just filming him getting drunk and we'd say you, mash one of those sausage rolls into your face, whip yourself with that raw bacon sort of thing, filmed about 3 hours of it. some of the most powerful footage in the film, Porksheath.

i think this is actually how he does all his films - he has an initial mad thought, then does it as properly as he can, then builds out from there - finds the story to fit the vision as it were.

yeah i'm sure its in that "catching the big fish" thing - he talks about following his dreams basically, and works off the images rather than a story or anything.

there's another british director who says he does this, duane hopkins, he says he tries to build a film visually. but it only really worked for his short film. his features have just been a bit grim cos they are essentially about austerity britain.

we never had a script we'd just have an idea then send hunderds of overexcited text messages back and forth fleshing it out. whats he guna wear, whats the stage set? etc etc. good fun. everyone should have a chance to do it

yeah it sounds good. mood over anything else and making the story up as you go along, based on what has manifested. it always makes good things cos it builds the story out rather than feeling imposed.

i was taking more dmt than any man alive at the time as well so my understanding of how reality worked was quite interesting. i was basically trying to make images to represent it. but the other influence was this alcoholic recluse mate with terminal axiety who appears in all these photos. so you had two diffferent image-banks merging

No not the wife but a friend

but this was a fun place. Ive walked passed it many times and never even knew it was open because it has no sign or name. it smelled like a bathroom and spanish was the primary language. Reminded me a little of my old place if I turned the living room into a bar. but it was decent and I will be going back

Popped into the silent woman after a hard day of car charging, dog training, lunch, walking through the woods.

First thing is the headless woman sign, got a sort of Tudor into Sherlock Holmes feel. Anyone know more about it?

The carpet is nice, bit ab-ex?

The eagle-eyed among you might spot my delicious pint of Carling at edge of shot.

They play Mark Goodier's hits from the 1970s all the time, which is OK with me. Rod Stewart doing "The first cut is the deepest"
