That feels intrusive, anything that enters when you'd rather keep it out seems intrusive
Yeah, but "intrusive thoughts" usually refers to troubling thoughts, like the urge to jump off something tall or suddenly grab the steering wheel when someone's driving.

When I was very young I kept running this tape of going down a slide barefoot into drawing pins

I'd consider that an intrusive thought. Another I had was a never ending staircase, but that wasn't as horrible. Climbing a never ending staircase that is. Or a never ending corridor, walking down it.

Yes this is why I want people to talk about the frequency and intensity to get a sense of how narrativised you are day to day. 'Intrusive thoughts' are generally intense and uncomfortable arent they, sometimes in a very grim way with traumatised people. a huge amount of my thinking is not invoted or even welcome but i wouldnt describe it as intrusive

I do have intrusive thoughts about eg dropping a baby and their head smashing, jumping out a window, being quickly crushed into a mulch by an oncoming train. i see these as safeguarding, the imagination doing its job keeping you out of danger

I got this really harrowing one of me as a pale sick man lying helpless in this infinite white space, growing out of my body are these black thorny structures as extensions of my skeleton, but they're more like bog wood, and causing me extreme pain. and when they're pulled out they leave these gaping, breathing sensitive wounds
