are you doing the videos too?
He has a whole 'sonic universe' alongside these last two albums, but I havent followed. he's also about to start a new HBO show that he co-directs and acts in called the idol, playing a self-help guru and cult leader

I get major Charlie Kauffman vibes from that cover (Synecdoche). And I assume he's done that cover because this is a concept album about dying, what with Jim Carrey's narration and the opening track being about nihilism in the face of death (just pour gasoline on me). Not paid enough attention to the lyrics elsewhere to know if there's any sort of thread running through it.

I will say it's grown on me a lot already. I was jamming at my desk to "How Do I Make You Love Me" earlier. And I think "Out of Time" is gorgeous. I even like "Less than Zero" which I thought was shite last night.

They wont let themselves go and dance corpse, too proud and committed to their stale worldview, they're hairshirts

The Lil Wayne and Tyler the creator tunes should have been lopped off imo. Maybe a case of agreeing to features while an album is still germinating, or not wanting to offend. but I don't want to hear them

I like both songs. The features don't really add anything but they don't ruin it either.

Just reading that Max Martin is also partly responsible for the masterpiece ariana grande no tears left to cry

I read somebody saying that after listening to this album, other stuff sounded muddy and dull. And I agree, there's a real crystallisation occurring here
