Strangulated hernias, heavy pain killers for the first time in aeons cause your flesh usb has gone wrong, all kinds of visions flood in (gabapentin). As time becomes irrelevant, you float in a temporal bubble and in that half-space half-truths flicker

Sleep deprivation and parenting/mentoring. I know, it’s biochemical wetwear but they smell like nothing else on the planet, all the variations of possible futures will flood in, little people and it’s all ahead of them. If you’ve cradled a newborn it’s always mind blowing, the responsibility

What does the future hold, dear hernia

- You really want to know?

In The Cattle Raid of Cooley, Fedelm was Queen Medb’s main seer. She wore a speckled cloak and had spirals for eyes/pupils. She identifies herself in the text as a poet rather than a seer, with the gift of “imbas forosnai” - inspiration, insight, foresight. She correctly predicted the outcome of Medb’s desire to invade Ulaid

Her teacher was Scathach, a Scottish warrior woman and prophetess. Bit like Veleda on the continent just with more swords. There’s another text with Fedelm in, but arguments about translation aside, she drew inspiration from river banks. Thin places, ie liminal

Link to possession as divination porthole, geasa too, or reaching states that tip into delirium, speaking in tongues et al. Cults of the Shadow

Dreams...

Last night I was reading a book, Destiny Matrix, by the "post-quantum" physicist Jack Sarfatti ( acid casualty? genius? madman? hard to tell ) and one of his concerns seems to be how time only appears to travel in a straight line and how the future can leak into the present - one of his examples was how people dreamed of planes flying into tall buildings before 9/11, and how Bin Laden was worried about this:

from a transcript supposedly of Bin Laden talking

and from the same transcript:
There's a fully developed new model of this from Eric Wargo - his book Precognitive Dreamwork & the Long Self is genuinely really exciting.
Interview with him here but buy the book: https://whatmagicisthis.com/2020/12/12/the-timely-ideas-of-eric-wargo/

His first example in the book is also about his own precogntive dreams of 9/11 IIRC.
I've had a couple of instances of precognitive dreams since I read it. His idea is that we're all experiencing them fairly constantly but we don't notice them 'cos they speak in the dream language of allegory.

To answer the opening question I tend to use the I Ching more than anything else. As it's embedded in a Taoist framework, if you follow it's advice you tend to act in a Taoist way and are thereforre less of a muppet. Those of you who know me life and have seen me act like a dickhead for extended periods may roll your eyes at this but best believe I was probably not listening to the I Ching in those periods.

This is great when you're working somewhere weird and isolated like a shit village or thamesmead, you get to be some kind of demon for a bit. Best thing to do is to embrace it and talk really loud on the phone too

the way technology breaks is one of the main factors which tells me the world is way weirder than we are led to beleive.
its all in sync with everything else in a vast cosmic conspiracvy
the last time i had a massive weed binge (lasted about, i dunno a month maybe) by the time i got out of it i had no hot water and the oven/hob was broken so i couldnt cook and it was snowing. this is when i knew for sure you cant ignore reality or your tools and technology will take revenge
its like an extension of illness through the extensions of our body

I suppose that's the reverse of an omen though since it's occurring after whatever it is that's gone wrong.

I feel like Jack Sarfatti in his book Destiny Matrix is trying to hammer home a point by repeatedly referencing Stephen Hawking:

reminds me of the alchemists using code words ("technical terms") to obfuscate what they are really exploring
