The first I heard of him was when he helped Snowden get the NSA stuff out. That's what seems to have put him on the map, but since then he's become increasingly petty and contrarian and mainly seems to be motivated by a burning hatred for American liberal media outlets and journalists. He's constantly starting fights on Twitter with people from NYT and the Washington Post.

He's in the same category as Max Blumenthal and John Pilger - 'journalist'-activists who'll stick up for any kind of fascism or state violence as long as it's anti-American, which very stupid people can end up thinking is progressive, because America bad.

I was reading an article on the intercept, his former organ, that made me think of mr tea, our top purveyor of far right memeage.
About how there is a US equivalent of #charitysowhite which is destroying left orgs,
Hang on I'll find the link

I think you're confusing me with someone else, dear sufi. Maybe HMG?

That article sort of casts doubt on the righteous purging of right-on left orgs, saying that even if they feel it is necessary, it benefits the right by diverting energy and people from the cause, but the piece is written by RyanGrim, a mr tea like figure who cant seem to tell whether hes reporting on this from which angle, but hes definitely salivating gleefully,
The article itself might as well be a provocation to the left to abandon these purification rituals, which of course also benefits the right, just like mr tea ironically witlessly broadcasting far right memes and talking points here

What a tangled web said one spidey pointing at the other spidey

There's a bit of that to the one I posted about the union busters too, but management using progressive talking points and initiatives to counter unionisation efforts does appear to be a genuine tactic and I think it just has to be wrestled with whilst being careful not to dismiss ideas like diversity in general.

There's no reason people shouldn't expect both decent wages and a respectful workplace and it's incredibly cynical on the part of the bosses and these consultants to play the latter off against the former. Unsurprising, but cynical.

Yup. Very few business owners have any actual compassion or sense of fairness towards workers. It can be found in some small companies, but even that is not common.

Like Blumenthal, Greenwald was at one time a fairly credible left wing journo focussed primarily on US imperialism, but mostly reasonable and did some excellent investigative work. he was heavily involved in the award winning Snowden stories, did some decent work on the US domestic intelligence stuff and was generally pretty highly regarded even in liberal circles.

Since 2016 he's slid into a bizarre right wing populist mode, has been pushing Covid lab leak and anti vaccine stuff, and has appeared on Tucker Carlsen 40 times with 14 appearances on Laura Ingraham. It looks like combination of factors have caused this, alienation from his colleagues after the election when he was involved in pushing DNC hack stuff on the intercept, the slide towards the where the money is - most typified by Hitchen's embrace of vicious neo liberal war - and good old fashioned audience capture.

He's since seen a niche open up for an anti-liberal, anti 'woke' establishment commentator from the left, started getting clicks and cash when he added a right wing tinge and he's just gone with it. He's essentially a right wing libertarian propagandist now and unfortunately any semblance of journalistic standards have gone out the window.

Chuck him in the bin.
