Another quasi-motorik one that rocks... I feel that the three I've described as quasi have some quality that means that the beats don't carry you effortlessly forward in the way that true motorik does. For me, the defining quality of motorik (as a listener, not in technical terms to describe the drumming) is that endless, inexorable flowing forward into eternity...

a cover version which is every bit as good as the original, maybe better

A lot of people seem to rate that one highly, I certainly prefer the original though.
Also, maybe not motorik but it reminds me a lot of Mother Sky or maybe Can in general - without being an actual cover it feels like some sort of homage to them

I just feel that there should be some stuff out there that is motorik techno but I don't really know anything that sounds like the noise in my head (and I don't know how to make it either before someone suggests that I do that).

I don't really hear either of them as motorik. Maybe it's me... would be interested to know if other people think those tracks are motorik.

nb this thread is not supposed to challenge @Benny B's in any way, rather it is inspired by that and intended to complement it. It's just that to me krautrock can mean so many things; if asked I would say "I love krautrock" but the fact is that a huge lot of it I find incredibly boring. It's definitely not the case that I only like motorik stuff... but a lot of the stuff I'm thinking of when I say "I love krautrock" does have that chugging sound to it.

No worries, I'd probably agree with all that too.

This sounds motorik to me, no idea if it is in the strictest definition though.

Yeah it's often described as motorik (and it mentions that book City of Night that I just read)... also that Nilson one is a sort of classic rock hint of motorik thing.

I dunno, it's sort of related to motorik I suppose but that suicide beat is more of a pummeling thing rather than that cruising down the highway neu beat - probably has common roots in velvet underground stuff like waiting for the man though

Love this... was wondering about posting it, wasn't sure if people would agree with me that it had some kind of motorik thing going on.
