Chicago house pioneers Larry Heard and Robert Owens have won their legal battle against Trax Records . . .

The suit . . . alleged they had never been paid any royalties for some of their most popular tracks, including "Can You Feel It" and "Bring Down The Walls," . . . The musicians also said in the complaint that Trax Records had never actually been assigned the copyrights for any of the songs. They sought damages of $150,000 per track, with a minimum of $1 million in total.

Now, Heard and Owens' lawyer Robert S. Meloni says that "the parties amicably resolved their disputes," and the copyright—both for the master recordings and the publishing—have reverted back to the Chicago duo. They haven't been awarded any damages, however, as the lawsuit's original target—Trax founder Larry Sherman—had died, and the current owners of Trax, including Screamin Rachael Cain, didn't have the money to pay.
