Drvg Cvltvre - what's good? Is there a sort of scene

Assuming you're familiar with the 90s Hague scene? Unit Moebius/Bunker records etc.? Drvg Cvltvre is sort of the continuation of the more slow'n'sleazy/electro end of that. He was actually part of that scene and this archive of his early Ra-X recordings is nasty as fuck:
best ones so far, i thikn what this music approximates is the sensation of being on drvgs and the room spinning and turning thoughts over and over

Look at this @Leo - seems all I had to do was wait....

Ordered this one the other day... straight up banger (if it turns up and actually makes it to my turntable that is to say)

I'm having all kinds of problems with the post right now. I just got seventy quid refund from one seller. So annoying cos the second I approached to say "Excuse me, any idea where this might be?" they just said "courier said it's delivered we can't help you" and they were instantly really really unfriendly and made no effort to help. Makes no sense to me, like if I lost a fiver and someone told me to get lost then I might give up, but if they've taken seventy quid for a big fat nothing then I'm hardly gonna just say "Oh alright then no worries" am I? So I kept asking them for a signature which they kept not giving to me - and then suddenly they produced the signature but it was nothing at all like mine. I reckon that they probably did post it but it got lost in the post and, rather than split the losses by a half-refund or something, they thought it would be better to fake my signature and try and get the whole thing (or who knows, maybe the courier chucked it in the bin and faked the signature, but why would they do that?). So I got a whole refund, serve 'em right the lying, robbing fucking cunts.

It's weird that I feel triumphant about it though - the actual position is that I paid seventy quid, waited for months, then spent weeks arguing with the seller, then weeks arguing with paypal and now I'm in exactly the situation that I started in. I would have obviously much preferred the package.

Got this one through the post today! Which looking at the above post I ordered before the end of June... only a hundred days to deliver. I wasn't as surprised as I might have been cos I got a message from them the other day saying it had been returned and they were sending it again (no extra charge - nice of them) but I didn't get my hopes up cos I assumed it would probably go missing again. Sounds good still anyway.

It would be fucking great if it suddenly started raining records that I've ordered and which disappeared in the post but sadly I don't hold out much hope for that, very pleased to get this one, I'd given up on it so it's almost like a free record in a weird kind of way.

David Vunk is a bit hit and miss it seems to me, some decent enough italo, a couple of acid bangers and amongst all that there is (at least) one ep that seems to fit nicely enough into this thread. And cos it's a new year and I'm feeling optimistic that maybe they've decided to fix the postal service so it delivers packages etc I thought that I would throw away some money by trying to order the fucker - fingers crossed!

If it fits through the letterbox it will definitely fit nicely into my sets so here's hoping.

In fact all three tracks from the ep just about scrape about into this thread though they are far from the dirtiest tunes mentioned

For my money I reckon b1, the track called something about Medication will be the one wrecking the dancefloor at Ferro next time if it does fucking show up...

As the tread says many times over, I'm a sucker for these heavy, dirty tunes and of course I dig acid, same as everyone else on this forum I assume. Slightly less popularly I love the stabbing pulse of a cattle-prodding ebm shocker. Now of course these days all but THE most rigid are open minded enough to enjoy many styles of music - but just cos you might happen to like country, electro and church organ music, it doesn't necessarily mean that those styles work well together. In fact, as a general rule, I'd say that country and electro should be kept separate, there is littel to be gained from mixing those styles... however, luckily for me, there is no reason why you can't take a grinding slo-mo filthcore tune and add in a little acid, or change the beat to something that will give you a bit more body control, in fact, I see no reason why there shouldn't be some tunes that fit comfortably in all three of the above genres and which will basically push all my buttons like a maniac playing whack-a-mole with them.

This track is getting towards that general vicinity any how, I think it fits in this thread and it has acid in there... is it ebm though? I dunno, maybe, but it's another one that should be fun at Ferro Bar. In fact we got a few gigs coming along soon, hope I have a few new records to accompany me.

I'm thinking that - apart from a few honourable exceptions eg @thirdform, @bassbeyondreason and maybe @version - many of you have been surprisingly inactive in this thread except maybe to drop in and say "cool" or something. Many people that I'd expect to have dirty filthy dance-floor slime for days that would fit perfectly in this thread. So why so quiet? I don't like to say this, truly I don't, but I have a nasty feeling that some of you are holding out on me, that you're sitting on a whole bundle of "secret squirrel" dance floor burners that you simply want to selfishly keep for yourself instead of doing the right thing and telling me about them. One of the worst crimes it's possible for a human to commit, I don't know how you sleep at night... so please, redeem yourself, get stuck into this thread and hit me up with some more sleazy queasy mr teasy nastiness asap.

Fujiyama, Peter Hope – Ketamine Queens

I don't know if this fits - industrial vocals, sort of techno, definitely about drugs, maybe a bit too fast?

Again, it's very late/early and I'm listening to it quietly so as not to disturb cats or humans. Sounds pretty promising though. And honestly I'm not that worried about the speed cos, I may be a bad dj, but even I can figure out how to make a record play a bit slower than it usually does if iot really put my mind to it.

I asked you the other day about Decius, have you checked them out? Heavy on the dark acid, Paranoid London/Fat White Family connections.

Yeah, I know them fairly well cos Lias used to sleep on my couch all the fucking time... actually that's a little unfair, he slept on my couch sometimes, it was his brother Nathan who was like a limpet, once he is ensconced on your sofa then that's it. I think I've heard it said that even the strongest waves cannot dislodge them once they're attached and having seen him in action I have no problem in believing that to be true, in the end I needed a chisel to get off him off finally... when they played in Lisbon Nathan came up to me at the end of the gig and asked if he could stay at my place for a couple of days I immediately started to stammer out some terrible lies as an excuse and then I realised that he obviously had a hotel booked and he was just winding me up the little bastard. He took definite pleasure in seeing the fear in my eyes... I think it was deliberate, he got me off balance and I was so relieved that I was happy to "lend" him 150 for ketamine which I never got back.

But I thought I wrote a long involved post to whatever you said about Decius - my favourite track of theirs is still Come To Me Villa which I think was their first... kinda downhill all the way after that...

maybe you didn't quote reply or tag me, so I never saw that response. do you recall what thread it's in?

yeah, the album is kind of same-y overall but some tracks are pretty good.

I don't know to be honest, my computer is slowing dying bit by bit, I can see less and less of the screen every day. I have less and less control over it and of my life as a whole every few hours.
