Music for Opiates

i feel like Scott's music is too busy to really capture this feeling Wash is going for

I don't find his music busy - or at least the bits I like of it, which are all ones that feel "file under ambient"

But okay then, how about this, people in the late '90s used to talk about "heroin house" (well, Kevin Martin did, and a few others picked up on it).

This is the tune, out of the stuff they were talking about, that I really thought "ah, I see what they mean" (albeit not having had any experience with opiates)

Back 2 back tracks - the set-up and its brain-addled, rapturous outro. When Xhol Caravan’s chords settle roll in around the 6mins mark time to fade in Ron Geesin. The first time using heroin where, deludedly, you think it provides sonic agency

Not music but I remember the Jarmusch film Limits of Control and thinking how great it was... but if I hadn't been so out of it I feel I may not have liked it so much and even struggled to reach the end.

And speaking of JJ films that one Only Lovers Left Alive is clearly about heroin... except it's vampires addicted to blood.

Boris with Michio Kurihara - Fuzzy Reactor

Limits of Control
has got a soundtrack full of tunes that would probably fit this thread - lots of hazy, droney tracks -Boris, Earth & Boris, SunnO))) & Boris - suits the visuals, lots of heat haze shimmering on the sands

I don't remember the soundtrack at all. I don't remember the film either. Had to Google the name in fact. All I could remember was a really boring film by Jarmusch that I loved. Paz de la Huerta got her kit off but that hardly narrows it down.

From this point it gets dark from buzzing warped oscillators (reminiscent of Cabaret Voltaire a tad too), then percussion and lead land on an exact rush

A deranged classic and soundtrack to a relapse
