Background muzak

I watch a lot of fishing videos and the music in them is usually surprisingly good. I'm not sure how to describe it, it's not incidental music. It's more background music and surprisingly 'modern' selections, so I wasn't really sure how to title the thread.

Surely it's similar to old library music, but the cache of stuff out there must be huge now and I'd love to be able to categorise it. To me, dance music genres have almost seized to exist in my imagination and all I hear now is stuff like this.

I'm not saying these are standout tunes, but the videos are full with this 'muzak'.

I heard similar stuff last time I was in a H&M. The videos all have music like this on them. I counted several genres on one of the full length videos.

hmm it took me a second to differentiate the breakfast muffin and the bloodworm bag mix there.

It probably literally is modern library music. The libraries still exist and I assume that this is what they do. I remember a thread about it on a record collector board but as it doesn't come out on vinyl there was limited interest.

Average age of the anglers who watch the videos has got to be 60+ but they go for the sleek production with the marketing videos. Lots of euphoric delayed chipmunk vocal cut ups.
