You mean stuff that's more explicitly danceable? Hmm. Did Dead Or Alive ever do anything other than, uh, the obvious one?

yes! their version of "That's The way I like it" is a classic, featuring some pure eighties "uh huh" sounds

Dead Or Alive - That's The Way I Like It

There is a post a few pages back where I just trailed off into gibberish, I think it was cos I wanted to link to this track I have which is on a compilation record someone made to raise money for an LA radio station, but the track isn't on youtube. But now I recorded it badly with my phone and put it on yt so you can hear it. It's a really unique bit of proto-electro pop - actually from 1976 apparently. A no hit wonder for sure.

I really liked that break and I had a crack at making a tune out of it which you can hear here if you care to

Edit; I called it Killing of the Perv cos the synth noises came from the track Killing of the Witch by Mort Garson and the beat came from this Laca Perv.

Oh what about this classic, I love it. I was at that crap Belgian festival dour and all the bands were shit I was in the damp site doing speed with English people who lived in Belgium and had a little tape psalter they just wanted this one rewound and rewound.

It was a brilliant tape that, it had this baby Ford track at the end, some young marble giants. Lost it of course.
Video not available in my country!

I think rather than like electropop such as Human League or Erasure etc I meant electro as in

Electro_1_cover.jpg

So I thinking of some pop guy hearing those comps (or other stuff in that vein) and marrying it to pop music. So not electropop but rather electro meets pop. And also I'm looking for one hit wonder oddities within that genre. Like the Cowboy one at the start.

Pete Burns was a legend in Liverpool - as he says in his autobiography, he was "accepted like a mythical creature - a unicorn - that'd you'd see from time to time in town"

One of my friends had a story about him turning up to a club in a paper suit, which didn't work out too well.. there's reason they're normally made out of cloth

François Thevenon – Automatic

imagine if Columbo was French and did an electro-pop tune..

hard to find a decent youtube rip of this, but if your eyes can't stand the sartorial elegance then here's poor quality audio only..

LOL, this has turned into a thread of random great tracks as opposed to tracks that are actually alike. but I don't mind.
