it can easily be transplanted onto the 8 bar grime soil and with that kind of approach it really reverberates and all of a sudden all those boomy drums every now and then can be tasteful
I'm sure Gus would say that the nervous horizon lot have an all too restrained and tasteful approach to it, what we're looking for is the big boomy drums and melancholic leads of 2017s death of the club

millenials have their equivalent and its that particular kind of melodic techno they play at the afters, you can already feel the one foot in the comedown

as you can tell this lacks the sustain for a netflix intro
it also does have what I like to call a bounce

is that you in the video?
yes

also this made me think about hudmo - he doesn't approach the dark side, he's had enough of a time flipped by a benzo addiction and listening to russian witch house that whenever he goes into the studio he only makes these soulful sugary bangers with not a hint of melancholy in them

it's always these whiney gliding synths like at 2:05, I think that whole hung up vibe must be an 80s thing indeed, that's why it goes so well with aperol

as a non-native english speaker, I cannot go beyond 2000s in my understanding of lyrics in pop songs, they get too complicated later on

actually this is more related to the thread (same ministry of sound 2010 universe as labrinth)
heard quite a nice hardcore remix of it somewhere in brixton last week but tbh plainly sped up it hass this trance feeling to it which works very well out of the box

I think it's about the tempo as well, you have to let the melancholy sound out, hence probably why chopped and screwed goes that in that direction by default

@suspended have you heard of triad god?

i remember this thought the production was interesting but can't say the rapping itself did much for me

not cause he doesn't rap in english or his voice is soft, alot of UK drill rappers for all their talk of savegry and demonic behaviour don't have the kind of voices you'd say really reflect that
