One of the trackiest examples. Essentially a drum sequence roughed up a tad with even more chaos. The rowdy factor to Chicago’s more well known, harmonically minded releases. G Park dropped stacks of these at the Hacienda but my memory is a bit fucked re exactly what was what, week after week. Not my favourite by any means yet you can see exactly which direction they were headed in with hindsight

No11 to buck the trend has to be China. Only ever had it on tape for years until a mate chanced on a copy and I renewed tapes of random 12”s (all lost to time)

That and the two Missing Dog comps are on my "records I'll probably die never owning", so will have to make do with the crappy MP3 versions.
I would post the London Calling mix of "Do You Like This Beat" by Auto Bahn, but all the versions on YT are the wrong one.

L.I.A.M. co produced the above as well

Interesting fella, and as luck would have it there's a really cool interview from rinse France with him giving the full skinny on those days, what it was like making those tracks, being bezzies with Marcus Mixx etc

If you can get past the.. um.. over enthusiastic interviewers there's a lot of science dropped in this

So many tracks tried to replicate the delicacy of Blakk Society and go nowhere near

One of my all time faves the instrumental. Wrote this once before on here but I saw EDMX tear the roof off a rave in London with that utter banger. He'd whipped us into a frenzy, everyone drenched in sweat. I was no longer dancing, had broken through into some other mental zone, just jumping up and down high as I could over like a Massai warrior. No drugs involved either, just pure uncut jack

I have a virtual DX7 I use in Ableton and found the exact preset from a trove of thousands of OG 80s presets. Couldn't believe my ears when I first hit the key. Still need to do my own version with it

9) Master C&J - When You Hold Me
This is the one with loads of different versions of pretty much the same tune. I can see why I guess, it's such a cool riff with just a slight undercurrent of menacing darkness - or is it melancholy? - swirling around what, on the face of it, is quite a pretty sound. To me it has a sort of sci-fi feel to it, almost like a John Carpenter soundtrack perhaps.
