He's got the best name cos if he likes your post it looks as if you have two likes. In fact why do I assume it's one person, maybe he is two people and why do I assume it's a he... er actually probably cos it says he is a man come to think of it, but the other question was valid. Why are you two people horny man? Are you like Bob and Roberta Smith? Are you named after the museum in London?

Is there a Pantiman museum I'm not aware of?

I played in bands (this was the only one which even approached being ok: ), went to an interesting high school, wandered the city extensively, saw lots of amazing music at venues people now consider legendary, was in the presence of numerous famous people (but did not talk to them bc I was painfully shy), did graffiti, spent lot of time at the library, ate krsna food whenever possible, and was fortunate enough to be involved with some things which no longer really exist (squatting, peddling on St. Mark's Place, being a bike messenger, living in an apartment btwn 1st and A which cost less than 3k/mo), but was a very angsty baby, and didn't really appreciate any of it as much as I maybe should have.

Was overjoyed to leave the city in 93. Scarcely thought of the place until I returned to play a show in 2008. I've been back several
times since then, and reckon I like it less each time, but still read sites like EV Grieve on the regular, and get super sad when places
like Odessa Restaurant close, even though that place was always terrible.

@polystyledesu and I were a part of the same NYC microverse. He's a bit older than I am, and probably has much better stories.

horny man y panty man are a so so puerto rican rap duo w a funy name:

amazing, where did you go after?

Version completely missed the point of Miranda Priestly's soliloquy, which is surprising for a Pynchon scholar.

I got it - Hathaway's unaware of how constructed her world is - but the scene just didn't land for me.

I think it would have been more effective if she'd made a point of telling her exactly what differentiated the two belts then segued into the broader point.

I also stand by what I said about her being able to say more or less anything in that scene, even nothing at all.

If she'd turned round and just stared or said "Oh, are they?" with the same tone then it would have had the same effect - you'd get the smirks and grimaces from the others, Hathaway rattled, the air sucked out of the room.

It's not that he's intellectually incurious though, it's simply that he sees everything through a different filter from me, he went to Eton and I.... didn't. Whatever topic we're talking about - even though I really like the guy and enjoy spending time with him - I am somehow conscious of that. It's very hard to explain but it's definitely true.
This really suddenly hit me today when he was telling me a story about a stag do he was on at the weekend (he goes to a stag do literally every weekend, this one was in Lisbon cos he flat out said to the groom that he'd been on so many stag weekends away that he would only attend this one if he had it in Lisbon and dragged everyone here, wherever they came from or were based) - at the end of the evening about six or seven ended up at a brothel and one of them paid for a girl for them all to fuck! My friend wasn't into it but apparently he had to sit there and translate for all the guys while they had sex with her... and cos it was him, this horrible story still sounded somehow square or something, even though the actual story seemed nothing like anything a square would do, does that make any kind of sense?

How much translation was really necessary? Surely everyone involved was speaking the international language of love? Or at least, of sordid, transactional sex.

no use for a witticism
I know of a normie guitarist in an indie rock band (who have released music on various "cool" record labels) who works for a London bank. Probably not uncommon in the music scenes of major world cities.

The speech addresses the dissenting notion by saying these miniscule differences gets stretched out along a massive chain and a small difference gets multiplied to the point of significance in the macro. And you cant convince hathaways character of the difference to begin with the same way you cant point out the differences between a child's scribbles and an ab ex painting to a dissenter- its not about the belt or the paintings, its about the process. Wintour's character understands that and rebuttals with a defense of her process, not the belts which are insignificant.

The Queen is definitely a normie event
its interesting because theres a true faction of normies that absolutely despise the queen, not just nerds and the very online, but normal people from all over completely at odds over the status of the queen. And its different from politics where everyone knows exactly where the line is drawn. With the queen theres seems to be complete disconnect between the sides. I Imagine the OJ trial was like this.

Just been playing squash with this guy that I met at, well, at the squash courts in fact and we had a quick beer after and.... it struck me that he is absolutely a normie.
is this something you noticed in people before and have just given it a new name or do you now see the world anew? like the glasses in They Live
