It does go on to say the bloke was kicked out for making other people uncomfortable too though, so it sounds like he was told no then kept trying it on until everyone got fed up and had him ejected.
Sure, I bet he was a twat but it seems unrealistic to try and legislate to remove every possible unpleasantness from life. It just seems like a very minor event to report as a horror story.

plus, that quote about him not being appropriate for the club seems to have been made before he bothered other patrons. He was surely a dick, but also seems like the person quoted rushed to judgment.

He might have been alright if he just went "Oh, fair enough" and stopped, plus you don't know the history of the person complaining. It's likely a cumulative thing of repeatedly having had to deal with that sort of situation and being wary of where it could lead / refusing to put up with it.

I get your point though. Some people seem intent on curating the world like they would their social media, blocking included, and blowing everything up into a story.

You just have to hold both possibilities in your head, I guess.

its a tricky one. it comes up here whenever a dickhead starts posting. we tell them to fuck off and then they say,
well thats not really a dissensus then is it cos you dont like any people who arent like you being here, which is true,
they've got a point, but then again, who wants to deal wtih dickheads.

I am probably being unfair. Likely it's just something that person said as part of a conversation without attaching any huge significance to, but the interviewer has pulled it out and highlighted it which makes it seem as though it was some sort of horrible nightmare for her when it wasn't at all.

Also, on reflection, just because most nights have loads of people doing much worse than that, it doesn't mean that they should does it? I'm veering towards sympathy with snowflakism now I think about it properly. The other night we went to Damas in Lisbon which really is a pretty progressive bar, virtually all the staff are trans and it ought to be about as safe a space as you can get, yet on Friday Liza was in a really bad mood cos loads of people had cracked on to her in ways which she considered rude or inappropriate or whatever. I think I was sort of thinking "she and countless other people have to put up with a million times worse than was reported in that story every weekend so why should that person be so protected?" but of course that is a childish attitude, the aim should be to get everyone to the good level or better, not to drag that down to the normal experience.

So yeah, I say kick out the dickheads by all means. I do have a problem with face control and some twat like that cunt on the door at Berghain (er, not that I've ever been there) deciding which faces are gonna be dickheads, pretending that they have some kind of knowledge of human psychology which really boils down to simple prejudice. I suppose what I'm saying is that there should be a relatively low bar for kicking someone out on the basis of their actions, but a really high bar for blocking someone on the basis of appearance.

Eric De La Cruz, door host at local party Wrecked, said the best method is "an eye-sight attitude test." For queer parties like Wrecked and Papi Juice, weeding out those individuals who "don't get it" is imperative. "Some straight people don't understand. You can tell that they don't understand the concepts. They don't understand the pronouns, they don't understand anything." De La Cruz shared an interaction that a member of the security team had had earlier in the summer with a man in line. They explained to the man—as they did to everyone—the queer nature of the party. He replied something to the effect of "well, as long as nobody touches me." He wasn't let in.

this reminds me of that time corpsey and his mates went to a gay club

Probably more honest to say we prefer certain particular kinds of dickheads.

The old adage "you can disagree without being disagreeable."

Although being disagreeable is far more fun and entertaining.

I take it that the telling to fuck off isnt a way to weed out outsiders but a means to admit only people who are fine with being told to fuck off. At both dude summits we spoke with awe at the level of abuse the average user here can take and come back the next day like nothing happened. Never seen anything like it personally. Mr tea is like a special ops commando

My wife and I would go to this normie bar called the daquari factory every now and then because we were ghosts in there. No one we had or ever will interact with outside those walls in there. Was freeing and you got to drink a gigantic boozey slushy

And observe mating rituals. A common normie thing over here in america is that the girls will get really dressed up, hours in the mirror getting ready, but the men will uniformly look not like slobs cause they look clean but alot like gigantic toddlers
