Yeah that kind of thing where, it does't matter if you follow the sport or not, you can straight away understand it's something out of the ordinary and in a good way.

When I said "yeah" I actually had a thing in my head I'd half-remembered from a Bird highlights reel... but the description is very obviously something that Messi could do so I'm not at all surprised to learn that.

something I love about Messi is the simplicity of some of the genius things he pulls.

i have this goal stuck in my mind, for example, the one at 2:30 here:

looks so simple, like he just sees something the others don't.

For approximately 5 mins into this segue one of the finest tries scored in a boiling cauldron of white heat as England melted

If you don’t follow rugby, watch Tipuric the 7 in red, how he draws 2 defenders and still releases the offload, class

Yeah one swerve of direction takes so many out of the game.

still have no explanation for this strike:

the angle, the distance, the body position, the power he gets on it, the perfect dip. doesn't seem possible.

Don't think I've seen that before - fucking hell!

Saw a video re: Ronaldo today, essentially saying "Haaland ain't shit"

Anyway, I hadn't seen much of Ronaldo playing before, but it looks like it would have been absolutely terrifying playing against him

He scored 47 goals in 49 games when he was like nineteen and playing for Barca. An absolute monster hampered by injuries.
