One thing that is quite interesting in having lots of foreign friends who speak English as a second language is that they often say something and ask me if it's correct or they ask me the meaning of a word - and this has the effect of making one think about things that maybe as a rule one doesn't. I have found myself thinking about the precise meanings of words and their correct usage.

Yeah, to the point where it loses any actual meaning. It's a very weird feeling.

I heard him repeat it hundreds of times during the build up to his detox and therapy referral, so that specific line will always take its toll if, on very rare occasions, phrases get close to it
