The best 3 - 4 letter words

Hub certainly has a satisfyingly chunky heft to it. I sort of wish it meant something more solid so as to fit with its feel though. Heft is also nice in fact come to think of it.

I'd like it if people explained why they liked their picks so much though. I guess if you give a list of ten words you don't have to explain them all but I don't see why you couldn't pick two or three of your absolute favourites and say why you particularly dig them.

Also, why only three or four letter words? I would like a bit of leeway for longer words, for example a good four letter word is boing which is appealingly springy, but even better is doing which could rhyme with it or could be something else completely. I like a lot of five letter ambiguous words of that nature - polish or is it Polish, and I really hate being misled. One time I saw an advert saying "Rolling Stones live in Hamburg!" - and my first thought was although I'd always assumed most of them reside in London it didn't really need an exclamation mark.

With names I know someone called Lois and also Lias and in Portugal there are lots people called Luis (pronounced Lu-eesh). It's five letters but I also know Lewis.

Yesterday I saw a question on twitter, there is a guy called Johnny whose dad has five sons, they are called Zaze, Zeze, Zize, Zoze and... what's the fifth one?

'Hub' has unfortunately been ruined for me by becoming a corporate buzzword.

'Welcome to the Ideas Hub', yech.

alot of good entries. I like loop but unfortunately sounds too much like poop. Hub was mvuents original suggestion but decided its too reminiscent of 'porn hub'

I really like how satisfying it is to say all those phrases of two short, rhyming words, which are very often crude or insulting:

rich bitch
fag hag
cock-block
bum-chum
wank bank
