beautiful things especially when shared. there are so few of these small gestures of sharing you can make with strangers in western countries. here have a cigarette, and at the same time you're saying i like you, you are part of this, you are one of us, you are in the circle, you are accepted.

I was in the local minisupermarket thing today and the staff are always pretty friendly, I guess cos I'm one of the few customers that isn't a miserable old bat who is one hundred and sixty years old. I was taking some time staring at the tea rack trying to decide on the least bad option when the guy there drifted up behind me and said "Need any help?" - I said something about taking ages cos I'm English and tea is really important to me and he - clearly really wanting me to know that he is a cool guy who smokes the 'erb - said "I really like tea too - but not that kind of tea" and topped it off with a huge wink to make really sure I knew what he meant; basically he was saying "Although I live in this small village where nothing happens and, on the surface, it may appear to the untrained eye that I am one of the normal residents, I am in fact - like you brother - actually an urban-sophisticate who is no stranger to the forbidden exotic pleasures of the marijuana plant"

Last smoked a (shared) pack at the pub a few weeks ago - that will have to be my last oily I think as I have sinus problems and smoking won't help...

Maybe he was talking about @Mr. Tea. Or he was just trying to pick you up.

This real hip cat must have read on the road at some point, surely no one has ever used the word 'tea' for marijuana since 1957.

Yeah very true, it did seem a strange choice of words, maybe he just meant rooibos or something and all the rest of it was in my head. Seems unlikely though, surely no-one likes rooibos.

It's pronounced 'rubbish' for a reason.

my uncle was doing this to me the other day, he kept making references to weed as though it was this cool thing, which i suppose it probably was in his day, something for rastas and hippies, but its really lost some of that cachet i think. i mean you literally buy it as sweets in legit shops on my street its not exactly underground.
