i feel sorry for him

they are obviously all bellends but it must be a nasty thing to be involved in the top level of politics. very unforgiving and very public, and surrounded by absolute wankers. psychologically hard to deal with.

he's probably not making it any better now, but he probably thinks he is. or at least has a shot. there's a bit of tragedy in there

they're not though are they. they're all kinds of different people. but filtered through i) having the right background to be in it and ii) being particularly quirky people emotionally speaking to have the need to be like the Health Secretary and devote your entire adulthood to it.

doesn't feel any remorse for being evil Tory so why Pty his tragic state of life and face

you don't have to do you. it's easy for me coz i'm not there and don't have that ambient insult of turning the tele on and these bellends being on it making the rules. i've been into it in the past but from a distance its hard to hate in the same way, it doesn't serve an emotional purpose for me now i think. so they become more points of interest to turn over in your brain.

over the years i've been around political-ish senior-ish people quite a lot and for me the day-to-day realization and experience that they're all actual people who definitely aren't any cleverer or better or very different than the rest of us is quite a useful one for thinking about the world i think

bit of a wierd point imo cos mh is definitely not clever or better than @Corpsey for example but he is capable of apparently treating the old and/or sick as expendable, being responsible for loads of unnecessary deaths then ignoring his own rules so he can snog his secretary, then laugh it up and go on a idiotic TV programme but i really hate political discussions so I'll leave it there

I think politicians need a voteable face also - Matt Hancock's face is like a cypher upon which the electorate can daub their fantasies

@Corpsey has an electable face, @craner maybe less so? @craners hair is democratic though

Corpsey

bandz ahoy
I've never put myself forward for anything, really, despite being a massive attention seeker. I hate responsibility, that's it. Maybe I'd feel morally culpable for causing thousands of deaths but 100% I'd feel scared that I was in trouble and everyone hated me.

I think being so concerned about what other people think can be advantageous in that I'm very rarely in arguments with people, most people IRL seem to like me, and so on – but it's held me back in all sorts of ways, such as never fulfilling my childhood dream of serving as Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. :(

I know so little about politics, btw, that I had to Wiki Matt Hancock to check what his former job was.

a shameless haemorrhoid of a parasite, emblematic of the nation and era which have made him

put another way, if he was in a small plane on a jolly and it did a nosedive on fire (where later evidence indicated he was on fire for up to 45 mins unable to escape burning alive) before smashing into the sea, where he was both drowned and pierced through the abdomen by wreckage invoking a peculiarly archaic triple death, who wouldn’t toast the gods?
