i don't get it. but they just released FIVE new albums (they must be old wiley fans). everyone seems to rave about them. i like the aesthetic, the production (its very much in that 00s/10s idea of a 70s palette), the vocalists are often gorgeous, but theyre all about a vibe (going from the tracks i have heard), not really interested in 'songs' (apart from a few here and there), more like friends trying out ideas (with famous friends) and leaving it there, which is cool for a while, but id like a bit more than mixtape fare. theres also something a bit self regarding in the overall vibe of they they do, its weirdly kind of heavy/serious, 'progressive', but not in a 70s musicianly way, more an adrian younge kind of way.

They've been discussed here, and not positively. In the "New R&B" thread, I even responded to your similar post as above.

bandz ahoy
I like a few tunes off their new album ('Higher' 'Fight For Love')

Nothing mindblowing but pleasant

at a minimum its always interesting to see what comes through the indie pipeline for me, even if I don't like much of it. Especially in the US where its (very broadly) the music of the educated, the new opera
