GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

never bothered to figure out to write TO a beat.

My favourite bars are when the accent is just after the beat, that little gap. Boy in the corner is full of that. Wiley too. Grime is grimey, the extremity of syncopation is such a fundamental aspect of the sound.

that's why when I hear hip hop i'm just like, not bothered - very much less vibe.

@lysene; syncopation is one thing, construction is another. We know Kane's learned to make these bars loose enough to fit grime's rhythms, but then when it comes to recording it can sound so awkward. He's the kind of guy, you can tell, who writes things acapella and they're brilliant, but then doesn't edit them in any serious way for composition to record... Of course, when he learned how to do that, coincidentally, he became incredibly flat and lifeless.

On the Lewisham McDeez vid; like it, but did we really need non-Novelist verses? The song was honestly perfect as is.

I got to say, while I've loved The Square on youtube videos and on sets. Their mixtape was dire and that song isn't much better, I guess they're still young. Did anyone actually like that Pengaleng track?

so weird skeptas shutdown gets daytime radio one airplay. happy for him/grime, though its def not his best song. that bit in the middle with the middle class sounding woman complaining about the brits is a bit crap lol. JME's 'dont @ me' is the better song.

this is lowkey one of the best grime vocals in a long time

surprised he hasn't gotten more of the FACT/Noisey industrial complex shine that Novelist and his friends are getting tbh

he hasn't quite clicked for me yet to be honest, listening to that now and it just sounds like he is ignoring the beat if you know what I mean. He's definitely getting some shine though, he's gonna be on Local Action:

ModeFM has been brilliant for a while, Doeboy and Bloodline, pretty much all of their sets every Sunday are brilliant :

This one especially good fun :

Any of em really after that one.

Yeah that's the same Begg. There are grime sets every night 8-10 on radar radio now too. The General Courts and Sirpixalot shows are a bit special.
