I have just finished The Leopard - everyone should read it. Probably one of the best things I’ve read all year. Just got the Visconti film on dvd as well.

Is it the one about the decadent family in the big house? Crushed velvet and big windows. Vague remembrance but I might also be thinking of something else emtirely

Kind of, it’s about the end of a way of life/being I suppose. Set in Sicily as the Italian Risorgimento are about to unite Italy and herald a new era, the main character is the last of his type - head of a noble household he watches all of his old ways slowly disappear.
it’s beautifully observed, great acute psychology and a lovely slow unfurling of minimal plot. It’s also funny.

It is a good film and supposedly a great book.... would like to read it.
Also, I would like to read the Cheetah-Girl which I assume deals with similar themes.

Seriously, would like to read it if anyone knows a way to get hold of it for a realistic price.

But that particular story seems to be extremely rare. There were fewer than a hundred copies made I guess. Although the book it should have been in also looks relatively interesting.

i like this title -

The gods of the fourth world: being prolegomena towards a discourse upon the Buddhist religion and its acquired pantheon

i liked this page from the invisibles:

"And this here's what we've come for; the blue mold grows here. Smoked, it brings visions and opens doors to other londons..."

This is sort of the premise/start point for the 'smog' zine i've written.

And further down "The moon's a door they say. Gateway of resurrection, threshold of life, threshold of death."

There is some really good stuff in the invisibles, but some of the art is very sketchy and there's a lot of poor storyline to wade through.

The art is serviceable and the story is the best story ever written. But if you don't like it, don't read it.

Last time I reread it I ended up taking huge amounts of blue MDMA with droid, just like blue mould.
