I remember I was reading paradise lost while working a job that I was totally bored of, feeling like a corporate worm, a total failure -

But I privately knew I was reading paradise lost and that made me feel like a lord of infinite space and I knew, looking at the successful people striding past me in their slacks en route to the Michelin star restaurant that *they* were the worms

I had another revelation from acid about reading, again it's not stuck though

I realised I'd been reading for the sake of reading, unlike in the old pure days when I read to become a more godlike person possessed of divine knowledge

Sad!

it will stick and you will find your way back. all it asks of you is that you obey The Teachings. that is to say, become vegetarian, quit your job and become a humble street poet.

I was feeling like I could get rid of it the other day because there certainly is a limit to how happy it can make you but then I recalled earlier not having any money (disclaimer: I'm speaking relatively of course) and it was quite depressing I must say.
