I like this idea, one of Pound's own according to the notes:
"stone knowing the form which the carver imparts it"

Nope, did exactly the same as yesterday (and the day before that possibly?) Sat in bar from 12 till 4 reading this book, had food, fell asleep, woke up feeling fine then back out by 8. Guess where I am now, lol

El guiri, usually, affectionately though

Guiri: ( Urban Dictionary def.) a somewhat pejorative term for a foreigner, usually a tourist, who happens to be in Spain and stands out as being pretty obviously not a local.

Pound's getting pretty sentimental about his dead writer friends now "Lordly men are to earth overgiven..." Ford, Yeats, Joyce.

I liked how Basil Bunting was a conscientious objector in the war, went on a hunger strike for 11 days and won, that's a good story

Now he's just showing off, listing all these exclusive restaurants in Paris and London he frequented: "Sirdar, Bouiller and Les Lilas or Dieudonne London or Voisin's..."

Been going through this very slowly reading all the notes then plan to have a last glorious run through from start to finish without them and I'll be done.

Noticing more echoes of that Circe's Island canto xxxix in this one

"till the shrine be again be white with marble
till the stone eyes look again seaward"

(Pound's dream of rebuilding the statue to Aphrodite at the seaport of Terracina)

And he's linking his current condition at the prison camp back to the Circe story too:

"ac ego harum" (and I too in the pig sty)

"so lay men in Circe's swine-sty"

"ivi in harum ego ac vidi cadaveres anime" (I went into the pig-sty and saw soul corpses)

Highly fascist site!
Our entire project is motivated by consciousness of an existential threat. European peoples, both in our mother continent and scattered around the globe, now live under a cultural, political, and economic system that has set our race on the path to cultural decadence and demographic decline. If these trends are not reversed, whites will disappear as a distinct race. The incomparable light we bring to the world will be extinguished, and the greatness of our achievements will be preserved only in fragments, like the scraps of literature, shards of pottery, and shattered artworks that survived the wreck of pagan antiquity.

We aim to halt and reverse that process here in North America, but we also wish to learn from and contribute to the struggle of our comrades for white homelands around the globe.

Some people have speculated that Epsteins templum was to Aphrodite.
