Beast of Burden
It was a bit like a Bollywood movie with no songs.

The lead actress was also in my top film from last year, Hustlers.

i went to see deerskin in the cinema yesterday. it was the best film i've seen in a long long time. it's about a guy who buys a leather jacket and then starts to fall in love with this jacket and he sets himself the goal of being the only person in the world who is allowed to wear a jacket.

it's directed by the guy who produced mr. oizo.

Watched Dr Zhivago last night. Only ever caught pieces here and there (same with LoA). Autumnal evening, both fried from work. 1000% transfixed the whole way through. A Guinness, T Courtney, too many good performances. Going to put a Julie Christie pic on the fridge now too, even things up.

Still haven't seen Zhivago, but I love your idea of a passive fridge-pic crush war. I'd imagine one would need to tread lightly here though, which might be fun if handled in good spirits.

I haven't finished it yet, but I watched the first thirty minutes of The Decline of the American Empire last night and it was pretty odd. A stream of sexual anecdotes punctuated by the odd flashback and a scene where an uncomfortable looking bloke goes for a piss and fills the bowl with very fake looking blood.
Finished this last night and thought it was great.
