The New World

Lightning comes, and she smiles.

Except we never see the lightning; we hear the thunder; and we never see this smile, above is the closest we get, as the camera rounds her back. And it's enough; from the silhouette, you can already see it. In her cheekbones, in her eyes and chin.

My friend, you are either gonna have to either write off a lot of people (potential friends!) as poseurs, or else come to peace with the mantra, "different strokes for different folks."

The picture you posted reminded me of the cover and then I remembered you like papua new guinea and thought you might like that one because i love it. but it doesnt matter. different strokes man horses for courses imo

You know, I appreciate that, always hit me with new tunes! I've been putting together playlists including a PNG one, so it'll get more time

Maybe, but so is being told your favorite things are garbage! Give me a middle ground I'll take it

I agree, i think that's an awful thing too, raining on parades unnecessarily but there's value if you're forced to defend your position, think about why youve taken it

I'd argue there's always an element of bad faith with taste. the tension between the physical responses to any stimulus and what we present to others. total honesty and alignment is rare because we're being pulled in different directions. and 'this is me / this is not me' i like or dislike is in a way a stupid response to the world. @luka what was your thread about going beyond this?
