"Mattress firm is some sort of giant money laundering scheme. They are fucking everywhere and always empty. I remember seeing 4 mattress firms all on each corner of an intersection once, there is no way there is such a demand for mattresses."
I often feel like this about the density of hairdressers.

but there are lots of people who get their hair done every 4-6 weeks. I think I've bought two, maybe three, mattresses my entire life.

True. Deplatforming does work. You're not gonna get anywhere near as many middle-aged parents going to dedicated conspiracy sites as you are Facebook.

For real. Historians of the far future will date the demise of our civilization to boomers discovering Facebook, I'm sure.

There's probably an obscure passage in Spengler that predicts exactly this, in fact.

Isn't that the nick land formulation of facebook? When cyberspace was annexed horizon to horizon by capitalism, sort of culturally marked by facebook?

But how do we harness it more? By learning to better modulate our wills to fit the channels laid before us by this tech, we may manage to preserve something human into the spiritual future.

i thought you didnt want to preserve the human? you don't actually have to use toktok if you dont want to. you can just ride your bike in the street with your friends instead.

The best way to preserve the human is by learning how to emulate the posthuman, and anticipate its ontology, its behavior.

A world guided by what we think of as artificial intelligence would not be near the optimal trajectory, it seems. I'm beginning to think that tech could very well advance to near infinity so long as the human remains as its heart. The human must, perhaps, remain the nucleus of the post-human, or else the latter would not subsist. A transhuman symbiosis... if you will.

The posthuman, at heart, dependent upon the human, and the human, at the organs around the heart, dependent on the posthuman? They begin to float up lockstepping spirals.

I've been enjoying Annie Kelly's stuff on Qanon Mums in the UK. She is on a bunch of podcasts like Qanonanonymous.

Underneath the bandaids are ritualistic brandishments. They had to settle for household means, seeing as the regular means of skin grafting just couldn't have been pulled off under the time constraints.
