On Q - it’s good

“The QAnon text fragments push both hermetic semiosis and the blank space principle to their extreme and take, so-to-speak, reader-response theory into popular culture. The mantra of the QAnon movement as well as of the German Corona deniers is that it makes no final claims, but only gives critical thought-provocations, which everyone should research for themselves. Since the “research” of most QAnon followers consists of Google and YouTube searches within their own filter bubbles, they end up confirming their own assumptions and conspiracy-mythological world view, but with the feeling of having reached these conclusions through their own individual research.

This scavenger hunt principle makes QAnon an engaging interactive game. Its pull and its attraction is explained by this. In fact QAnon is an “Alternate Reality Game” (ARG). ARGs are a genre between computer game and group adventure, for which there has been a specialized game industry since the 1990s. They contain puzzles and mysteries that players solve by finding information outside the game and sharing it with other players. Alternate Reality Games often have open ends. As their name suggests, their game plots construct alternative realities that overlay the players’ everyday life and, so-to-speak, charge it with magic.”

TUNE IN NEXT WEEK!

Appeal of FeelGood predicated on one assumption. People want to live a script. Insert them into a storyline in which they can be heroes. Give them a sense of importance. Make them feel needed. Tell them the survival of humanity depends on their efforts. Make their lives vivid. Make each decision significant. Make every event significant. Charged with meaning. Reframe everyday occurences. An esoteric reading of events. Make them privy to earthshaking secrets. Use the proven techniques of plot twist and cliffhanger. Place them within a system. A heirarchy they can advance within. With each advance more plot line is revealed. This simple device has ensnared hundreds of thousands of followers and gathered enormous wealth. In the weeks to come we will hear more about FeelGood, their founder and prophet, some of their prominent followers and detail the plot structures they embed their acolytes within.

but, again, we are explicitly talking about conspiracy theories. that's the point i am addressing. and the conspiracy theory is precisely that there IS a supervillain character. groups of them organised together.
Are you talking generally or specifically in the context of this "the state is out to get the little guy " and "wellness" sense? Because there have been people like that.

my personal beleif is that it is vital for opressed people to know they are being deliberately targetted so they can hurry up and get their act together and kil kill kill. we need mass slaughter on an industrial scale in my personal opinion.

But what if they kill you?

has QAnon been monetized by an official entity? is there official Q merchandise, starter kits, etc, from "the source", or is it the case where any company that wants to sell a Q flag does so?

kind of amazing when you think how it has captured the imagination of so many people, yet is just publicly free flowing. these things usually only happen when there's a single corporate structure with a team of content creators developing story lines and marketing plans. you'd figure in our hyper capitalist society, a movement wouldn't be able to happen without a coordinated corporate effort.

I can't actually recommend that you waste 30 minutes of your life watching this, he's all over the place and clearly has no idea what he's talking about on some topics, but kind of interesting to see the thinking of some of this crowd.

Certainly the amount of times some utter fucking moron regurgitating the stupidest and most basic ideas shouts at you to "improve your sources and do your own research" would seem to bear out the success of this method.

One of my cousins has been telling me I need to be careful with my sources, which means I should only trust information from the most marginal voices with the worst web design but I think she's a naif there's no pure well to drink from. Everything is contaminated.
