Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
First he's going to tell you as soon as he's had dinner, now he's working!
"Ollie, come in here and help me with the baby, he's being a complete nightmare."
"Sorry love, I've just got to finish typing up some instructions on how to prepare fly agaric as an entheogen for some people on the internet. You know how it is."
"Oh fair enough then."

More shameless lies and excuses! Always time for a dad pun but mysteriously always busy when it's time to impart some mushroom knowledge

i went out foraging again this morning, on a rugby field, but alas no liberty. just these weird little ones that are same size as liberties but very grooved caps and dead straight stems. not right.

Craner promised to take me to the fields in Wales but then he decided he didn't want to be with me and Jim while we were tripping so he just took us to any old field a harmless one with no mushroom and pretended that's where they used to grow.

"I can't imagine what's happened" acting all innocent

no one wants to tell you where to go, people are a bit secretive, very general. i've actually quite enjoyed the two days of foraging i've done. i might drive to a field where i found a few the other day tomorrow morning before work. it will require superhuman discipline.

The best spots are rainy hillsides with soil fertilized by cow, or better yet sheep, shit. This is why Wales is held in such high regard by shroom hunters.

There's another species called wavy caps that can be found on woodchip in urban and suburban areas, but I think they're not as common. Don't think I've ever seen them.

Yeah another forager told me about them, cyanescens? He said you just need one and they specialise in growing in the urban environment, doctors surgeries, kids play areas and the like. Not seen any.

I was making a film a few years back. We didn't bother scripting it though. We just made it up as we went along. Some of the best fun I've ever had that. Very productive. Unfortunately the material was very heavy and it gave my collaborator a nervous breakdown. He's addicted to codeine now and he never leaves the house
It's the nicest thing I've seen

Why, there's such a hill 50 metres from where I'm sitting, sheep too. But it's chalky round here, I've the idea that's no good.

john michael greer is the guy whose podcast i listened to and posted up, about brexit, but john eden and comelately had issues with it. it was when comelately told me i had been redpilled. luka played devils advocate but we never cleared it up, cos no-one listed to the podcast properly. i think he's quite interesting but i've not gone back to him since.
greer does seem interesting. I don't think he's a right winger, fwiw, just a mad appalachian druid who nevertheless seems relatively sane when compared to the great mass of mainstream commenters in america

Greer was on an episode of Hermitix, the base/audience of which does seem to revere him. Don't remember anything from the interview, unfortunately.

But I wouldn't say that crowd is right wing proper, more like right wing by way of negating/critiquing the orthodox left. The Reluctant Right. The alt right could perhaps be figured as a wrong turn somewhere along the journey to this kind of ideological space. That is, in attempts to critique the left, can you manage to stay the course and not be overcome by resentment? Being overcome by resentment would amount to losing track of the kernel of egalite or whatever is supposed to lie at the heart of the left.

edit: losing the kernel would topple the dialectic and you'd be pulled into a partisan vortex. In this case, the alt-right vortex. Just speculating.

For what its worth I respect the podcast and have found several episodes fascinating. I think its a good example of independent scholarship.

hermitix crowd is weird twitter / acc. there's a rw and lw element. land often discusses greer, so that's why he's popular with his followers

but that's different from greer himself, obviously. greer is not right-wing, nor is he any sort of accelerationist (which is kind of the point of land's interaction with him - if anything, greer is anti-accelerationist)

Does he appeal to occult sensibilities? Which wouldn't be to say that he deals in occult matters, just that those who do may be drawn to him.

he's an occultist, so presumably some of his audience are drawn to that. but he's also a kind of anti-nick land, in some sense, and has become popular with (or known by) the accelerationist crown for that reason
